The
incredible truth about Rowing is "You’re never too old and
it’s never too late"
Fall Rowing instruction
is about to start at the Burnt Hills Rowing
Association with Varsity Rowers Double Sessions
begining August 18th at 5:45-8:00am & 5-7:30pm.
FALL Varsity and Freshman schedules are already
posted.
Our registration
format has changed. This packet of registration
materials only needs to be filed once
a year,
and is good for the entire calendar
year. An
additional, but very short, seasonal registration
form is to be filled out for each season such
as the 2008 Fall registration form below, and
submitted by the due date for that season.
This will not only save you time, but will
cut down on our paperwork and other associated
expenses.
If any of your rower's
information changes at any time, please be
sure to complete a new registration packet.
Registration packets can be requested in person,
or accessed by downloading from the links below
or at http://www.burnthillsrowing.com/forms.html .
There are 4 sections
to the Registration packet, and all forms MUST
be filled out and signed prior to participation.
Incomplete registration packets will not be
accepted, and athletes will not be allowed
to participate in any capacity until they are
completed.
There will be a
single page form similar to this above to fill
out every season during the same calendar year
that the above Registration packet was filed
with BHRA.
This is a single
form requires the signature of the parents.
On the form, there is an explanation of the
fundraising for the current season, the dues
for the current season, and other important
information.
This form
is optional. If you already have the required clothing,
then you do not need to return this form. Is
there is an item you wish to order, then include
the clothing form with your other paperwork.

By BARRY NEWMAN

PRINCETON, N.J. -- "It's a rare situation," says
Pete Cipollone, who is 5 foot 1, "where
a very small person is in command of a group
of very large people."
As coxswain of America's eight-man rowing
crew, Mr. Cipollone won gold at the 2004 Olympics.
He was the little guy in the back of the 60-foot
boat, talking to the 6-footers who were hauling
oars for 2,000 meters on an artificial pond.
It was the first U.S. win in the event since
1964. At the finish, Mr. Cipollone threw himself
into the arms of his closest rower, who hugged
him like a baby.

will be mutually agreed to by both Harry and
the participant. Interested individuals
should schedule directly with Harry. Questions
and/or expression of interest can be
After folks are "certified" on

Tools
to help get a Rowing Scholarship
By Kate Stockton
To
begin the process of seeking out a rowing scholarship
at your top choice college it is important
to understand the qualities that make up a
desirable rowing recruit as well as some helpful
tools to help prove that you have what it takes.
Listed below are qualities that most coaches
would want in their student-athletes. Check
off the ones that you think apply to you, and
then ask your coach to do the same. If you
have more than 10, you are on the right track! MORE>>>
